Maxrad Two Way Mobile Radio Antenna 430-490 Mhz w Shock Spring

Description

Only markings I found are MAXRAD and the numbers in the base.  Purchased from a college building/maintenance department, along with wo way radios and other accessories.
Overall height is 13.50", antenna is 8 3/4" tall from the set screw.
Please know what this is used for and if it will work for you, because I am uncertain.
