with broken steps.
These are made from steel (come preformed) and will provide a repair method for 632 & 640 hopper cars. Being steel these will offer a way to repair the cars with missing or broken steps that will withstand more abuse while adding more detail.
Two steel spacers are included that go between the trucks and car body to provide better stability and help prevent the wheels from rubbing the hopper bins ( for cars that use the screw attachment ).
As seen in the 2nd picture.
If it is the rivet type attachment  --- attention to rivet length is required.
The Epoxy noted can be obtained from auto parts stores and makes a very tight bond with the car bodies.  Allowing the epoxy to extrude thru the center hole creates a pin, so to speak.
The last picture is one of the first such cars to be repaired. The steps are roughly the same size as the original molded steps but are made a little larger to add more detail for enhancing the appearance.
They will come painted with a gray primer.  NOTE:  The mounting surface is not painted for better bonding.
