Exquisite African Buffalo Designs
Obverse: Gracing the obverse is an exquisite African buffalo design that shows the animal at an angle. At the bottom of this face is the coat of arms of the issuing nation, South Africa. The name of the issuing country, "SOUTH AFRICA," is inscribed to the left, while the name of the series, "BIG FIVE," and date, "2021," are noted to the right.
Reverse: The reverse design is a bisected buffalo image that allows the holder to see the full creature when two coins are viewed next to each other. Inscriptions with essential information about the coin are in two concentric circles in the middle. The inscriptions note the coin's face value, "FIVE RAND," its weight, "1 OZ," and its purity, "AG 999."
