I am pleased to present one of my more “creative” Silver Eagle rarity finds.  One you WON’T see everywhere, if at all!
I haven’t seen something this extensive when it came to cataloging a coin.  I mentioned this is a 2012 Silver Eagle.  At least on paper and stamped into the coin it is.  But this Silver Eagle bullion strike not only was struck in San Francisco (S), but it was struck in the Fall of 2011 with the 2012 date on it.  Someone came across 3, 2012
green monster boxes
with dated receipts showing they were struck in 2011, not 2012.  This is why on the label from NGC, you will see the date of the coin as being a 2012, but in reality it was produced in 2011, at the (S) San Francisco Mint no less.  How’s that for an incredibly unique collectible, back-date Silver Eagle?!
